In a bold assertion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared on Monday that he remains unfazed by threats aimed at him, emphasizing that millions of citizens across the nation serve as his protective shield. His statement came in response to recent remarks from a Congress leader advocating for violence against him.
Charan Das Mahant, a prominent figure within the Congress party, ignited controversy during a rally in Rajnandgaon by urging for someone capable of physically assaulting PM Modi. Specifically, he stated, "We need an individual who can wield a stick and shatter Narendra Modi's skull."
This inflammatory rhetoric, delivered in support of Congress candidate Bhupesh Baghel, prompted legal action against Mahant, who was subsequently charged under section 506 of the Indian Penal Code for criminal intimidation.
Addressing a gathering in Chhattisgarh's Bastar Lok Sabha constituency, PM Modi reaffirmed his resolve in combating corruption, dismissing threats from the opposition. He asserted, "The Congress has resorted to threatening me with physical harm, but such tactics do not deter me. By dismantling their entrenched corruption, I have earned their ire."
Reflecting on the historic grip of corruption post-Independence, PM Modi underscored his administration's unwavering stance against malfeasance. ""After Independence, the Congress thought that it had the license to loot the country," he said.

In a poignant moment, PM Modi acknowledged the overwhelming support of the populace, particularly the women of the country, who have become his shield against adversities. "So who will protect me? The crores of people... my countrymen, my mothers, and sisters have become my 'raksha kavach' today."
