The statement followed Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi's disapproval of any response to the Lok Sabha question on declaring Hamas a terrorist organization, stating she did not sign any related document. Congress MP Kumbakudi Sudhakaran had raised the question, and Lekhi emphasized that designating an organization as terrorist follows the provisions of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
