Mamata Banerjee Voices Alarm Over BJP Targeting

Banerjee's remarks were prompted by statements made by Suvendu Adhikari, the Leader of Opposition in the assembly, who hinted at a significant event that would shake the TMC and its leadership. Banerjee responded by dismissing Adhikari's assertions, labeling him a "traitor" who joined the BJP for personal gain. She urged supporters to remain vigilant against conspiracies aimed at undermining TMC leaders and the people of West Bengal.

During a recent election rally in Kumarganj, Balurghat Lok Sabha constituency, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee voiced her concerns regarding what she perceives as targeted attacks by the BJP against herself and her nephew, TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee. She emphasized that despite feeling unsafe due to these alleged targeting efforts, they refuse to succumb to fear or intimidation.

In addition to addressing Adhikari's remarks, Banerjee criticized the BJP for allegedly resorting to divisive tactics by bringing in outsiders to incite trouble in the state. She accused the Narendra Modi government of politicizing independent institutions, such as Doordarshan, by painting them in saffron hues, which she viewed as a disservice to the country's spiritual traditions.

Banerjee also expressed concerns about the BJP's potential return to power, warning that it could jeopardize religious rights and democratic processes in the future. She criticized the Modi government's handling of various welfare schemes, highlighting issues such as delayed payments to laborers and the alleged misuse of central agencies for political vendettas.

Furthermore, Banerjee raised questions about the impartiality of law enforcement agencies, citing instances of alleged misconduct by paramilitary forces in border areas. She called upon the Election Commission to investigate such incidents and ensure the protection of villagers' rights.

Throughout her speeches, Banerjee sought to rally support for the TMC while portraying the BJP as a threat to the state's stability and democratic values. She urged voters to reject divisive politics and uphold the principles of unity and inclusivity.
