Mamata Announces Trinamool's Solo Campaign in West Bengal for 2024 LS Polls

Banerjee expressed confidence in her party's capability to confront the BJP in West Bengal and potentially set an example for the entire country.

Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal's Chief Minister, firmly stated that the Trinamool Congress will not engage in any seat-sharing agreement with other political forces in the state for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Addressing a public rally in Deganga, North 24 Parganas district, she emphasized that while the opposition INDIA bloc would contest nationally, the Trinamool Congress would independently lead the charge in West Bengal.

Banerjee expressed confidence in her party's capability to confront the BJP in West Bengal and potentially set an example for the entire country. Her statement is seen by political observers as a clear indication for the Trinamool Congress to prepare for solo participation in the upcoming elections rather than relying on alliances or seat-sharing arrangements.

During her speech, Banerjee grouped the Congress, CPI(M), and BJP together, especially in response to the actions of central agencies targeting Trinamool insiders. She highlighted the arrest of Jyotipriya Mallick, a minister from her party, and criticized the other parties for aligning on this issue despite their ideological differences.

Furthermore, Banerjee warned against internal discord within the Trinamool Congress, addressing the growing infighting across various regions of the state. She emphasized that no individual leader should consider themselves superior to the party, reiterating that she would not tolerate any form of internal conflict.
