C.R. Kesavan, hailing from Tamil Nadu and proudly carrying the legacy of C. Rajagopalachari, India's last Governor General, has assumed the prestigious role of national spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Arun Singh, the national general secretary of the BJP, officially announced Kesavan's appointment in a statement, confirming that the party's President, J.P. Nadda, has approved his designation as the BJP's national spokesperson, effective immediately.
Kesavan made a significant political shift in April 2023 when he joined the BJP, parting ways with the Congress due to ideological disparities.
Despite his illustrious lineage, Kesavan, who is an engineer by profession, emphasized upon his individuality upon joining the BJP, asserting that he does not subscribe to the 'Parivarvadi' (dynastic) ideology.
