Karnataka Congress Leader Reveres CM Siddaramaiah as 'Lord Ram' in Affectionate Declaration

Anjaneya, a former minister and close associate of Siddaramaiah, made these remarks while addressing reporters.

Senior Congress leader H. Anjaneya sparked controversy on Monday by stating that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is "Lord Ram for us." This comment came in response to the Chief Minister allegedly not being invited to the inauguration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Anjaneya, a former minister and close associate of Siddaramaiah, made these remarks while addressing reporters. He asserted that not inviting Siddaramaiah to the Ayodhya ceremony was a positive development, stating, "CM Siddaramaiah himself is Lord Ram. Why should he worship Ram in Ayodhya?"

Anjaneya further mentioned that Siddaramaiah would worship Lord Ram in the temple at his native village, Siddaramanahundi. He added, "In Ayodhya, there is BJP's Lord Ram. They have invited their men to recite bhajans. I am Anjaneya (a name given to Lord Hanuman), we are all devotees of Lord Ram."

The Congress leader, who belongs to the Dalit community, criticized the BJP's approach, accusing them of adopting a "divide and rule" policy between religions. He emphasized that people from their community name themselves after gods like Ram and Hanuman, and these deities hail from their communities.

Anjaneya called for a shift in focus from temple construction to building houses and fostering healthy mindsets. He suggested that houses be built for people living in deplorable conditions, named Ram Mandirs, and asserted that Lord Ram should not be used for political gains.
