Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday said Congress, irrespective of the number of alliances it cobbled up, was going to be "wiped out" in the October 5 Assembly elections.
Commenting on the reported talks between the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party to hammer out a pre-poll alliance ahead of the forthcoming elections, CM Saini said the two parties were "stuck in the quagmire of corruption" and were serving their "own interests by deceiving the people".
He asserted that the BJP was "going to form government in Haryana for the third time with a big mandate".
Hitting out at the Congress and the AAP, CM Saini said people have realised that "they cannot do good to anyone, neither the state nor the people of the state; they can do good only to themselves".
Speaking about the threat to wrestler Bajrang Punia, who joined the Congress recently, CM Saini said: "We will get it investigated and take action against whoever is found guilty, no one will be spared.
While addressing mediapersons, CM Saini said, "PM Narendra Modi would be holding a rally in Kurukshetra on September 14".
The Haryana CM further said, "BJP will come out with its second list soon and there the party would not have any change in the tickets of candidates contesting the elections".
Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar earlier in the day said that BJP will form the government for the third consecutive term in the state.
The former Haryana CM told reporters in Karnal that in the coming days, the state will witness rallies by Prime Minister Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and several Chief Ministers and Ministers.
The elections to the 90-member Haryana Assembly are scheduled on October 5.
The last date of submission for the nominations is September 12 while the scrutiny will be done on September 13. The last date for withdrawing nomination is September 16.
The counting of ballot will be held on October 8.
