Insiders suggest that Govinda is being considered as a potential candidate to contest from the Mumbai Northwest constituency, pitted against Amol Kirtikar of Shiv Sena-UBT, who happens to be the son of the incumbent MP from the Shinde camp, Gajanan Kirtikar.

Renowned Bollywood actor and former Member of Parliament, Govinda, is reportedly in talks to align himself with the faction led by Eknath Shinde within the Shiv Sena party.

When approached for comments, a spokesperson from the Shinde faction refrained from making any official statement on the matter.

Notably, Govinda had previously contested the Lok Sabha elections in 2004 under the Congress banner from North Mumbai, securing victory over the seasoned BJP leader, Ram Naik.
