It was a tragic moment and incident when Jitan Sahani, the father of Mukesh Sahani, the chief of Vikassheel Insaan Party, was found murdered at their residence in Darbhanga district of Bihar, stated a police official.
The tragic incident was confirmed by Darbhanga Senior Superintendent of Police Jaggunath Reddy.
Mukesh Sahani had a house near Afzala Panchayat in the Supaul Bazar area where Jitan used to live. This morning, his disfigured body was found on the bed. Local police have reached the spot and are investigating; motive not known yet.
It is also roping in the services of the Forensic Science Laboratory as well as a dog squad to assist with the investigation into the murder case.
One of the very prominent faces in the Bihar political arena is Mukesh Sahani, Ex-President of Vikassheel Insaan Party. During Nitish Kumar's Government in 2020, he was Minister incharge of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries but put some distance from NDA due to conflicts with the BJP.
He is of the Nishad community, which is a seismic constituent of Bihar, and frequently declares himself to be the 'Son of Mallah' (Nishad).
