Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, called on Shiv Sena (UBT) to refrain from disrespecting the sentiments of millions of Hindus. His statement comes a day after Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut expressed doubts about the location of the construction site for the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Addressing reporters after visiting the Mumbadevi temple, the deity after which Mumbai city is named, Fadnavis stated, “I don’t respond to fools. But I can say one thing – stop insulting Hindus.” He emphasized that the Shiv Sena UBT had not played a significant role in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and cautioned against actions that hurt the feelings of millions of Hindus.
Responding to a query about Raut's comments, the senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader expressed his disagreement, stating, “The act of hurting the sentiments of crores of Hindus is wrong.” Notably, Shiv Sena UBT leader, on Monday, asserted that the Ram temple in Ayodhya is being constructed four kilometers away from its original location.
