On Sunday, the Election Commission made a significant adjustment to the schedule, bringing forward the date for counting votes in the Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim assembly elections from June 4 to June 2.
Initially, the EC had declared that the votes cast in both assembly polls would be tallied on June 4, coinciding with the counting of Lok Sabha poll votes. However, given that the term of the two assemblies is set to conclude on June 2, the date has been rescheduled accordingly, as announced by the EC.
It's worth noting that there will be no alterations to the timetable for the Parliamentary constituencies of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim, as clarified by the EC.
Furthermore, it's important to acknowledge that alongside the parliamentary elections, assembly polls are also taking place in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.
