The gathering took place at the Prime Minister's residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, and featured members from various delegations who had just returned from overseas missions to convey India's unambiguous commitment against terrorism and to uphold the cause of peace.

Earlier, Tharoor also echoed a tweet by the handle #TharoorSoulOfIndia, in which he highlighted the diverse composition of the delegation. There were seven Members of Parliament belonging to five different political parties and from seven states in India. Accompanying them were two veteran diplomats, one serving and one retired, both of whom had worked for India in Washington, D.C.

Tharoor highlighted the delegation's mixed representation from eight states and three religious groups, highlighting the devastating and polarizing character of the latest terror attack in Pahalgam. He quoted the blood-curdling reports from the April 22 attack, during which victims were allegedly chosen for targeting on the basis of religion. One of the particularly gruesome reports involved a woman who, having witnessed the killing of her husband, pleaded with her attackers to kill her too. Rather, they instructed her to go back and propagate their message—giving it an increased dose of fear.

NCP leader Supriya Sule reiterated Tharoor's sentiments in thanking the Prime Minister for his confidence in the delegation. She recognized the onus placed upon them in conveying India's collective voice against terrorism and in favor of the country's integrity and international image.

Shiv Sena MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde discussed the findings of his delegation's travels to the UAE, Democratic Republic of Congo, Sierra Leone, and Liberia. He pointed out that these countries showed immense solidarity with India's fight against terrorism and appreciated the nation's commitment to world peace. Dr. Shinde also discussed how Prime Minister Modi motivated the delegations with words of encouragement, highlighting India's growing international stature and the need to continue the momentum.

He also underlined that the message of India's steadfast stand against terrorism was received warmly by world leaders and the Indian community abroad, increasing global appreciation of the nation's strong policies.

This interaction is part of a larger diplomatic effort since Operation Sindoor, India's precision military action against the Pahalgam terror attack. The operation included targeted strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistani-held Jammu and Kashmir.

Under this concerted campaign, seven delegations traveled to 33 countries, meeting with global stakeholders to reveal Pakistan's sponsorship of extremist groups and to showcase India's counterterrorism initiative.

The outreach was appreciated for its bipartisan character with top leaders across the political divide—the BJP, JD(U), Shiv Sena, Congress, DMK, NCP (Sharad Pawar group), and AIMIM. Some of the senior participants included seasoned politicians and former Union Ministers Ghulam Nabi Azad and Salman Khurshid, whose presence highlighted a collective national approach to foreign policy and international security.

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar also met the delegations, praising their efficiency in articulating India's stand with clarity and conviction. He stressed the importance of regular global outreach to push back against unsubstantiated narratives and strengthen India's image as a responsible global citizen.

The observations gathered in these diplomatic efforts are likely to inform India's long-term policies in counterterrorism, defense diplomacy, and global alliances, demonstrating an intensifying focus on proactive, cooperative global engagement.
