An incident unfolded at the residence of Delhi's Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, as his aide, Bibhav Kumar, took a decisive step by lodging a formal complaint against AAP MP Swati Maliwal. The complaint alleged that on May 13, Maliwal breached security protocols to gain unauthorized access to the CM's premises, causing disruption and engaging in verbal altercation with Kumar himself.
In his detailed complaint addressed via email to the SHO of Civil Lines Police Station, Kumar outlined Maliwal's purported actions, emphasizing her forceful entry into the CM's residence despite objections raised by security personnel. He further alleged that Maliwal, instead of adhering to proper procedure, resorted to hurling abuses when confronted by Kumar, demonstrating a clear intent to disregard protocol and engage in disruptive behavior.
Further, Kumar placed on record that she tried to implicate him by accusing him of assault, which he vehemently denied. He said Maliwal's actions were solely to bring pressure upon him and defame his character.
Interestingly, Maliwal had already filed an FIR against Kumar for assault during her visit to meet Kejriwal, but Kumar's complaint put the whole thing in a different light—a tale of a belligerent Maliwal refusing to comply with security directions.
The complaint further described the sequence of events, indicating that Maliwal repeatedly tried to trespass despite repeated objections and left after the intervention by the security officers.
In a significant statement, Kumar said that the legal action must be taken against Maliwal, as her acts are suspected to be politically motivated, especially when the election season is going on. He urged the authorities to investigate her communications with the BJP leaders, which hint at their nexus.
The incident brings to the fore the rising tensions within political circles and the requirement of observing due process and security protocols, even during the peak of political activity.
