Lok Sabha MP Danish Ali, who is currently under suspension from the BSP, has declared his intent to join the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi. Despite being suspended by the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) last month for alleged "anti-party" activities, Ali emphasized his duty as a politician to participate in the "biggest drive for unity and justice."
Ali, who has been critical of the BJP and its policies, has actively aligned himself with the opposition, even though the BSP, led by Mayawati, has chosen to maintain a distance from both the ruling alliance and the opposition bloc INDIA.
In a post on social media platform X, Ali shared his decision upon arriving in Imphal, stating that joining the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra was a crucial moment for him. He highlighted the dichotomy he faced: either accepting the status quo or launching a campaign against the exploitation faced by marginalized sections of society.
Citing a personal experience in Parliament where he was subjected to derogatory language by BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri, Ali expressed disappointment that his plea for justice fell on deaf ears. He alleged that the attack on him was part of a larger plan to instill fear and hate in the country.
Acknowledging Rahul Gandhi's support during that challenging time, Ali emphasized the purpose of the yatra led by the Congress leader—to seek justice for the marginalized and exploited sections of society and to counter divisive forces. The yatra, covering 6,713 km in 67 days, aims to unite people against fear, hate, exploitation, and divisiveness, concluding in Mumbai on March 20 or 21.
Ali concluded by expressing his commitment to joining the yatra, viewing it as a crucial initiative for unity and justice, and wished for its success and the betterment of the country's future.
