Cultural degradation has ruined nations globally, says Mohan Bhagwat

Addressing the 'Vedsevak Sanman Sohala', organised by the Sadguru Group, Bhagwat felicitated 200 'gurujis' who participated in Vedas recitation throughout the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

While bringing out the cultural degradation noticed in countries like America, Poland, and those troubled by the Arab Spring, which he felt had been now witnessed in Bangladesh, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat said, "Such tendencies bring national cataclysm, and nations get destroyed".

Bhagwat also took a dig at those working towards global domination and attempting to create fault lines. He also made it clear that the evil forces that spread elsewhere and reach their final stage in India due to the knowledge, rule of law, the constitution, and other rich heritage of the country.

He asked us to be very alert regarding such challenges and reassured that history shows that in the end, these forces have had to retreat from India because of the country's current commitment to knowledge, rule of law, and her civilizational legacy.
The RSS Chief then went on to talk about widespread loss of faith in God among educated people and the problem of untouchability he has questioned "In light of this social discrimination, if people are influenced towards other religions, can you call it a religious change.

"Evil forces exist everywhere in the world, and their evil acts are still on everywhere. Bangladesh is not the first case. The first case is America. I read a book written by an American author titled Cultural Development of America, in which he discusses the cultural degradation of America over the last 100 years."

"This degeneration was replicated in Poland, then in Arab countries in the form of Arab Spring, and recently it happened in Bangladesh. Those who want to tighten their grip on the world and assume they are the only ones who are right, while others are wrong, such proud tendencies seek to pit people against each other and benefit from it," Bhagwat added.

"We must observe such tendencies fearlessly. If we go by history, it would be apparent to us that such forces grow big and ultimately reached India but had to encounter their decline here, as we performed their last rites. And we could do so since we possessed the knowledge, and by applying that knowledge, we are able to ensure that such tendencies wither away while following all the disciplines of law, the constitution and legacy," he added.

The disbelief and lack of faith ('anastha and ashraddha') are on the rise, particularly among the educated class, as they do not find examples to emulate, the RSS Chief said.

Untouchability has no place in the 'shastras' but it is present in practice, he observed.

"Who is to be blamed if someone, after being fed up with such adamant behaviour of Hindu religion, converts to another religion?" he asked.
