Country touching new heights of progress, says PM Modi

The prime minister called on those who create disturbances to introspect during the last session of Parliament and reflect on their actions over the past ten years

In his remarks ahead of Parliament's Budget Session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence in the country's progress and emphasized the continuation of its journey towards "inclusive and all-round" development with the blessings of the people. Modi greeted journalists with "Ram Ram" and noted the tradition of not presenting a full budget before the polls, but assured that a comprehensive budget would be presented after a new government is formed. Modi also criticized opposition MPs who habitually disrupt proceedings in Parliament.

The Budget Session of Parliament, the last for the current Lok Sabha, commenced with an address by President Droupadi Murmu to a joint sitting.

Modi criticized opposition MPs for frequently disrupting Parliamentary proceedings, urging them to introspect during the last session before the polls. He emphasized that those who contribute positively with their ideas, even if critical, are remembered and their words become part of history, unlike those who create disruptions.

The prime minister urged MPs to present their best ideas during this last session before the polls and expressed confidence that the country's democratic and development journey would continue with people's blessings. Modi highlighted the significance of President Droupadi Murmu addressing the joint sitting of lawmakers and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presenting the budget, characterizing it as a festival of women power. He mentioned various developments under his government to boost women's participation in different sectors.
