During the reply of the Prime Minister in the Lok Sabha, Congress MP and LoP Rahul Gandhi was seen inciting Congress and other Opposition MPs to disrupt the proceedings of the House. Whatever might be their attempt, Prime Minister Modi hit back at them with much more force since he touched all those issues, countering quite deftly their disruptions.

This is not the first time that the Congress party has indulged in this sort of activity. Another video emerges from 2012 where Sonia Gandhi is seen doing the very same act, gesticulating to let this House be created.

These videos establish a clear-cut pattern of how the Congress has indulged in disruptive tactics for parliamentary sessions, raising big question marks over the commitment of incumbent MPs to democratic norms and constitutional principles.

BJP Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala told Firstpost, "That is the contrast between their behavior and the PM's. PM Modi offered them water when agitating Opposition MPs entered the well of the House.".

Speaker Om Birla admonished Rahul Gandhi for his contribution to the disruption of proceedings, pointing out that much was expected from him.

The incident has reopened controversies around political strategy and what really is expected out of leaders to protect the sanctity of proceedings inside Parliament.
