On Tuesday, Congress party removed its incendiary tweet on X targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for being "missing in action" at an all-party meeting summoned to discuss the Pahalgam terror attack.
The Monday evening tweet had sparked political controversy. The BJP struck back instantly with a scathing response, accusing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of colluding with Pakistan, terming him as a "backstabber."
The Congress tweet, which read "Zimmedari ke samay gayab" (Missing at the time of taking responsibility), was also echoed by former Pakistani minister Fawad Chaudhry.
BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya went on the attack against Congress and described it as a "headless hydra, flailing without direction."
"Congress makes little doubt with its use of 'Sar Tan Se Juda' imagery. This is not just a political statement; it's a dog whistle to its Muslim vote base and a stealthy provocation against the Prime Minister," Malviya tweeted on X.
He also accused Rahul Gandhi of having had recourse to repeatedly inciting and justifying violence against the Prime Minister. "But still, the Congress will never emerge victorious, because the Prime Minister has the love and blessings of millions of Indians," Malviya continued. "If anyone's neck has been cut, it is the Congress — now a headless hydra, thrashing around without direction," he added.
