Congress, NC want to push J-K back into era of terrorism, unrest, Says Anurag Thakur

"By promising the restoration of Article 370, the NC and Congress want to take J&K back to an era of terrorism," Thakur said during a roadshow he held in support of BJP candidate Sunil Sharma, former minister in the erstwhile BJP-PDP coalition government, in the Padder-Nagseni assembly constituency.

The former Union minister Anurag Thakur on Thursday attacked Congress and National Conference for "derailing" peace and progress achieved after the abrogation of Article 370 and accused them of trying to push Jammu and Kashmir back towards terrorism, anarchy and unrest.

There is peace in J&K since the abrogation of Article 370 and the pace of development has picked up greatly," said the Lok Sabha MP from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh.

Thakur also spoke about the highest number of tourists thronging to J&K, which he claimed the NC and Congress did not want to accept.

Emphasizing the huge response for the roadshow and growing support for BJP across J&K, Thakur said, "The BJP is all set to form the next government in J&K." Thakur asked people to vote for BJP to return a strong message to Congress and NC in the forthcoming assembly elections.

After ruling the country for over 60 years, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi couldn't visit Kashmir to see a snow or enjoy ice-cream. They both saw snow and tasted ice cream in Kashmir only after Prime Minister Narendra Modi abrogated Article 370," he said.

Thakur blamed the NC and Congress for the "suffering endured by the people over the decades" and accused the two parties of again colluding to bring terrorism and violence back into J&K.

"There was a time when Kashmir was synonymous with terrorism, stone pelting and unrest. Under PM Modi's leadership, it now stands for development, peace and prosperity," Thakur said.

Today we have AIIMS, IIMs, 11 medical colleges, NIFT, IIT and IIMC in J&K on account of the visionary leadership, said Thakur.
