Speaking on the matter, Paswan expressed, "The party's Parliamentary Board, in unanimity, has endorsed my candidacy as part of the NDA for the Hajipur Lok Sabha seat. This constituency holds immense significance as it was the domain of my late father, Ram Vilas Paswan. Therefore, I am committed to contesting the 2024 Lok Sabha election from this very seat."

Furthermore, Paswan emphasized that the Parliamentary Board has vested him with the complete authority to make decisions on behalf of the party.

Addressing the contention surrounding Pashupati Kumar Paras, who also asserts his claim to the Hajipur seat, Chirag Paswan remarked, "I am prepared to confront any challenge that arises in the days to come. My uncle, Pashupati Kumar Paras, has consistently affirmed his allegiance to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is now imperative to demonstrate his solidarity with PM Modi during this crucial period."
