She also said, "While I'm not aware of the details of her current referral status, I can be very sure that she will have appropriate treatment.".

The case, which had caused outrage all over two and a half months ago, was against Samajwadi Party leader Moin Khan and his assistant Raju, who had offered a job to the 12-year-old girl at their bakery and, in return, allegedly raped her and recorded it. Noticing her continuous complaints of stomach ache, the crime came to light when the family discovered that she was pregnant.

Moin Khan was arrested on August 4. His political influence had earlier saved him from any stringent prosecution despite a long history of crime against him.

Reacting to the case, the Ayodhya district administration demolished Moin Khan's bakery after Food Safety Department officials raided it on Saturday, ratcheting up the political battle between Samajwadi Party and Bharatiya Janata Party.

CM Yogi Adityanath reached the Assembly and targeted the House, questioning why no action was taken against the SP leader, and announced financial aid of Rs 5 lakh for the victim.

BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj told IANS, "The situation is very condemnable. How can such a thing happen with a young girl? And how can an MP from Ayodhya claim that he does not know? The response of Samajwadi Party leaders is also confounding.".
