Blessings Received: Gangster Ashok Mahto Seeks Lalu Prasad's Blessings Post-Marriage

Reports suggest that Mahto's marriage is strategic, aimed at furthering his political aspirations by positioning his wife as a candidate in the upcoming elections for the Munger Lok Sabha seat in Bihar.

Renowned gangster Ashok Mahto recently entered into matrimony with a 46-year-old woman at the age of 62 in Patna, marking a significant turn in his life. Following their wedding, the newlyweds sought blessings from Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Lalu Prasad Yadav.

The wedding ceremony between Ashok Mahto and Anita Kumari from Lakhisarai district took place in a temple at Karota village, Patna district. Subsequently, the couple visited the residence of former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, where they received blessings from her husband, Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Mahto expressed, "I sought Lalu Prasad Yadav's blessings for our future endeavors, and he extended his wishes for our well-being."

Previously known for his notorious activities in Bihar's Nawada region, Ashok Mahto gained further attention due to his involvement in the Nawada jailbreak incident. His life even became the subject of a Netflix web series titled "Khaki: The Bihar Chapter," where a character portrayed him as the main antagonist.

Having expressed his interest in contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Munger during a meeting with Lalu Prasad, Mahto, being a convicted individual, received counsel from a senior RJD figure to marry and nominate his wife for the electoral fray.

On being questioned about the adviser's identity, Mahto declined to provide details, stating, "I prefer not to disclose the person's name."

Mahto emphasized, "If the people of Bihar support us, we are ready to participate in the elections." He aims to pit his wife against former JD-U chief Lallan Singh.

Having been released from jail last year, Mahto faces several pending criminal cases in the courts. However, with his recent matrimonial venture, he appears poised to make a foray into the political landscape of Bihar.
