Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, asserted on Sunday that the essence of Aurangzeb has permeated into the ethos of the Congress party.
In his address at a rally in Amethi, he criticized the Congress for proposing an inheritance tax in its manifesto, equating it to the historical Jizya tax. Adityanath emphasized the inseparable bond between Lord Ram and the nation, suggesting that those who oppose Ram are inherently opposing the nation itself. He singled out Prime Minister Narendra Modi's detractors, identifying Pakistan and what he termed as 'Ramdrohi', or those who betray Ram, as the two primary adversaries.
Reflecting on Amethi's pivotal decision in the 2019 elections to unseat Rahul Gandhi, Adityanath remarked that the resonance of that choice reverberated from Lucknow to Delhi, underscoring the significance of making the right decisions for favorable outcomes. He lauded the electorate for embracing the mantle of fostering India's development rather than aligning blindly with any particular party, applauding Smriti Irani's extensive engagement with Amethi, surpassing the efforts of generations of Congress leaders.
Adityanath criticized the Congress for failing to contest elections on a significant number of seats nationwide, highlighting their dwindling influence. He lambasted the party for its alleged affinity towards Pakistan, urging those sympathetic to Pakistan to relocate there, juxtaposing India's strides in poverty alleviation under Modi's governance with Pakistan's struggles. He credited Modi's leadership for uplifting 80 crore people above the poverty line and providing housing for four crore impoverished individuals, questioning the Congress's inability to achieve similar feats.
Turning his attention to the Congress manifesto, Adityanath accused the opposition of attempting to undermine the reservation system for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. He alleged that the Congress seeks to promote beef consumption among minorities, condemning it as tantamount to endorsing cow slaughter. Adityanath warned against voting for the Congress, cautioning that even if done deceptively, complicity in supporting a party that permits cow slaughter would be a moral transgression impossible to absolve.
