Upon receiving the report, Superintendent of Police Satyajit Gupta promptly arrived at the wedding site, where he received the minister's complaint and pledged to take necessary actions.

The incident unfolded in Mohammadpur Kathar village, situated within the Kotwali area of the city.

Narrating the ordeal, the minister mentioned attending a wedding ceremony the previous night, during which some individuals approached his son, MP Praveen Nishad, and hurled derogatory remarks about their party.

"When we objected, they turned hostile and physically assaulted me and my supporters. I sustained injuries," he elaborated. Law enforcement officials disclosed that they were diligently reviewing the wedding's video recordings to identify the perpetrators.
