According to Khera, the party's disapproval of leaders attending the Ram Mandir's Pran Pratistha ceremony was a big factor in her resignation. She also narrated her hardships after attending the event.

"From my days in NSUI till now, I have given 22 years of my life to serving the party wholeheartedly. But in the recent past, I was subjected to adverse treatment. My only crime was that I could not stop myself from visiting the Ram Temple," she wrote to Kharge.
