Despite the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) securing a majority in the Rajasthan assembly elections four days ago, the appointment of the Chief Minister has yet to be decided. In the interim, there are emerging reports of lobbying activities among Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs).
Hemraj Meena, a former MLA and father of MLA Lalit Meena from the Kishanganj assembly constituency in Baran district, has made allegations that MLAs are being forcibly restrained at the behest of Dushyant Singh, the son of former BJP Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. According to Hemraj Meena, Dushyant Singh transported MLAs from the Baran-Jhalawar district to Jaipur and hosted them at the Aapno Rajasthan Resort on Sikar Road. Lalit Meena, wanting to visit the party office, was reportedly prevented from doing so. When Hemraj Meena attempted to pick up Lalit, he claimed that Anta MLA Kanwarlal Meena, aligned with Dushyant Singh, obstructed them and appeared intent on physical confrontation.
Hemraj Meena recounted, "When I reached to pick up Lalit, Anta MLA Kanwarlal Meena stopped me from taking Lalit. He asked me to first talk to Dushyant Singh. When I called Dushyant Singh, he did not take the call. When we started coming, Kanwarlal Meena started fighting. We forcibly brought Lalit." Before departing, Hemraj informed BJP state president CP Joshi and organization general secretary Chandrashekhar about the incident. Subsequently, CP Joshi, MLA Bhajanlal Sharma, and BJP state vice president Shravan Singh Bagdi arrived at the scene.
Hemraj Meena clarified that he and Lalit Meena are committed party members and will support the decision of the central leadership regarding the Chief Minister. Despite facing resistance and even encountering stone-pelting that resulted in vehicle damage, Hemraj emphasized their loyalty to the party and its leadership.
