Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing critique of the government, addressing the issue of unemployment and the recent security breach in the Lok Sabha during a 'Save Democracy' protest at Jantar Mantar. Recounting the Parliament security breach on December 13, coinciding with the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror attack, Gandhi highlighted the breach and questioned the government's handling of the situation.

He expressed concern over the security lapse, emphasizing the entry of two individuals who sprayed smoke in the Lok Sabha, prompting the BJP MPs to flee. Gandhi criticized the government's failure in preventing the breach and questioned how the intruders managed to enter with smoke canisters, highlighting the potential risks.

Linking the incident to unemployment, Gandhi pointed out the growing issue of joblessness among the youth. He alleged that lack of employment opportunities under the Modi government has led to widespread unemployment, compelling the youth to spend excessive time on social media rather than pursuing meaningful work.

Blaming the government for the security breach, Gandhi argued that the incident occurred due to the frustration of unemployed youths. He accused the media of diverting attention from pertinent issues by focusing on superficial narratives instead of addressing the root causes of unemployment and the security breach.

Gandhi further criticized the government's Agniveer scheme, claiming it undermined the essence of patriotism, causing dissent among the youth. He asserted that attempts to suppress the voices of the opposition and the people would only lead to increased resistance and a spread of love against hatred.

This protest by the opposition bloc was convened to challenge the suspension of 146 MPs during the Winter Session, marking a unified stance against what they perceive as unjust measures by the government.
