Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday stressed the imposition of permanent measures for sound control of loudspeakers at places of worship.
At a review meeting on development works and law and order at the Circuit House, he directed officials to strictly put a temporary ban on high decibel DJs during the Holi festival, as per an official release.
Strengthening Security and Cattle Smuggling Crackdown
To boost security, Adityanath ordered the installation of CCTV cameras in strategic locations such as banks, financial institutions, shops, and business zones.
He also demanded strict action against cattle smugglers, threatening vehicle owners and any police officers involved would face action. Additional Director General (ADG) Zone Piyush Mordia was assigned to review district-wise to enforce the state's ban on cattle smuggling strictly.
Speeding up Development Projects and Infrastructure Upgradation
Chief Minister emphasized the prompt completion of developmental projects, tasking officials with the appointment of nodal officers for every work-in-progress project, weekly checks, and fortnightly progress reporting. On learning of delays on certain projects, he directed officials to speed up work without any compromise on the quality of works.
As the summer season is nearing, he instructed officials to provide an uninterrupted supply of water throughout the area. Moreover, he suggested making flyover pillars more aesthetically pleasing by decorating them with artistic paintings and good-quality advertisements.
Support for Farmers and Street Vendors
Adityanath emphasized that adequate vending areas need to be created to cater to street hawkers. He also directed all wheat procurement centers to offer cheap meals, free drinking water, and seating facilities for farmers.
The District Magistrate assured that wheat procurement would begin on March 17 at a predetermined rate of ₹2,425 per quintal at 36 centers in the district.
Vigilance During Holi and Crime Control Measures
In anticipation of Holi, the CM directed stringent vigilance during 'Holika Dahan' and festival festivities to avoid any unwanted incidents. He also asked authorities to shortlist the top ten criminals from every police station, reaffirming the government's commitment to law and order.
In addition, he declared to open hostels and low-cost canteens for working women in the district so that the workforce could have improved living conditions.
