Omicron less likely to need hospitalisation compared to Delta covid variant: UK Report

People affected with Omicron covid variant have witnessed 50 per cent to 70 per cent less requirement of hospital care compared to the Delta covid-19 variant, according to the study.

The study has also revealed that the booster dose starts to lose its effectiveness to prevent people from easily catching the Omicron variant after 10 weeks of its jab.

However, even if the virus had mild symptoms, it could still exert pressure on hospitals because it spreads so fast. The issue remains that any benefit of a milder virus could be wiped out by large numbers of people catching Omicron, the report added.
