Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan on Monday lost her cool during a heated discussion in the Upper house. The house was witnessing a discussion on the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Bill, 2021. During the discussion, the Samajwadi Party MP got angry after a member of the house allegedly made a personal comment on her. Jaya Bachchan lashed out at the central government and took a jibe by saying 'Aapke bure din aayenge...I curse you'. This all happened on the same day her daughter in law was questioned by the ED in the Panama Papers case.

SP MP Jaya Bachchan got furious at the government in the upper house over the alleged personal remarks made on her and cursed the government saying “Aapke bure din aayenge (your bad days are coming).. I curse you.” She further demanded that the Chair must take action against the member for making personal remarks against her. Terming the proceedings of Rajya Sabha as 'terrible', she said that instead of discussing the suspension of 12 MPs, the House was discussing the issues of clerical errors. An angry Jaya Bachchan went on to accuse the chairman of RS Bhubaneswar Kalita of not being 'fair'.

3. Jaya Bachchan also joined her colleagus from theOpposition benches and told the deputy chairman : “We want justice. We don’t expect justice from there, but can we expect it from you? How are you protecting the members of this house, or the 12 members sitting outside?” To this Kalita said that SP MP was deviating from the subject, and not speaking on the narcotics bill. Bachchan responded by saying that there are so many big issues to be discussed, instead of spending 3-4 hours discussing a clerical error. "What is going on? This is terrible!" she said.
4. All this happened on the same day Aishwarya Rai, the daughter-in-law of SP MP, was questioned by ED in connection with the Panama Papers case. The Panama Papers case includes the documents that contain personal financial information about wealthy individuals and public officials that had previously been kept private.
5. Amid all the ruckus in the Rajya Sabha , the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Bill, 2021 was passed with a voice-vote.
