Watch| 'Missiles being manufactured in UP': PM Modi's 'Brahmos' warning to Pakistan

Addressing a rally in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, the Prime Minister said, "BrahMos missiles will now be made in Lucknow…and if Pakistan attempts any sin again, UP-made missiles will annihilate the terrorists."

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent a sharp warning to Pakistan, indicating that any future attempt at terrorism would be met with action through force fueled by India's indigenously produced weapons.

Addressing a rally in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, the Prime Minister said, "BrahMos missiles will now be made in Lucknow…and if Pakistan attempts any sin again, UP-made missiles will annihilate the terrorists."

Emphasizing India's increasing military prowess, Modi used recent events: "In Operation Sindoor, the world witnessed the prowess of our homemade weapons. Our Air Defence Systems, missiles, and drones have demonstrated the power of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat', particularly the BrahMos missiles.

Modi also added the psychological effect India's military progress has, especially on the neighbour: "In Pakistan, just the mention of 'BrahMos' is sufficient to wake them up at night." He also pointed out the fast growth of India's defence industry, adding, "Many big defence companies are establishing their factories in the UP Defence Corridor. Made in India weapons will become the strength of our forces very soon."

The Prime Minister also seized the moment to highlight the need for economic resilience and solidarity in times of uncertain global situations. "There is a climate of global uncertainty. Every nation is taking care of its own interests. India is going to be the third largest economy of the world and for this reason, India will have to remain vigilant as much as its economic interests are involved."

He guaranteed the people the government's sincerity, affirming, "Our government is doing everything it can in the best interest of the country."

Demanding inter-party cooperation to enhance India's economic aspirations, he added, "Those who wish the best for the nation and want India to be the third largest economy in the world, regardless of whichever political party they are from, should put their differences aside and infuse a determination for 'swadeshi' products."

Welcoming citizens to adopt locally produced goods, Modi called, "We will purchase only those items that are produced by Indians. We have to become vocal for local."

This new drive for economic self-sufficiency comes on the heels of U.S. President Donald Trump labeling India as a "dead economy" amidst criticism of India's Russia connections and a 25 per cent tariff imposition paired with a "penalty."
