VHP has thanked former United States President and presidential candidate Donald Trump, for raising his voice on behalf of Hindus in Bangladesh. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad has also slammed the United Nations (UN) and international human rights bodies for their silence over the issue of persecution of Hindus, and other minorities like Christians in the troubled nation.
Reacting to IANS, the national spokesperson of VHP, Vinod Bansal said that Trump has been speaking out on one of the major issues confronting Hindus and other minorities there for the first time as one of the top western leaders who have raised voices against the issue of Bangladesh persecuting these communities due to Islamic extremist forces ruling over there.
Bansal said VHP praises him for bringing to an issue, which it feels such persecution of people is still a reality and is really suffering at the hands of Bangladesh.
Bansal questioned the UN and many other international human rights bodies on their silence regarding the situation in Bangladesh. He questioned why the organisations that talk about global human rights have not taken any step against the violence on Hindus and other minority communities in that country.
He went further to talk of how the extremist elements targeted Bangladeshi leaders lately, termed as a global threat to democracy.
Bansal appealed to democratic governments across the world to be united against such forces. He said that unless such jihadi influences are brought under control, they might destabilize governments and gradually erode democratic institutions.
Donald Trump while wishing Indians on Diwali called the barbaric violence that is being unleashed against the Hindus, Christians, and other minorities who are facing attacks and loot by marauding mobs in Bangladesh, a country he stated remains in a complete state of chaos.
"It would have never happened on my watch…We will also protect Hindu Americans against the anti-religion agenda of the radical Left. We will fight for your freedom. Under my administration, we will also strengthen our great partnership with India and my good friend, Prime Minister Modi… Happy Diwali to All. I hope the Festival of Lights leads to the Victory of Good over Evil!,
