Mahendra Singh, the lawyer of Unnao rape case, victim has succumbed to prolonged illness on Monday.

He and the rape victim were injured in a car accident in Rae Bareli last year in July.
Both of them had been admitted to AIIMS for advanced treatment. The lawyer was sent home to take complete rest while the victim was discharged after two months.

According to family sources, his condition began deteriorating on Sunday night and was admitted to district hospital. He passed away on Monday due to multiple organ failure.
His younger brother Pinku said, "He never recovered from that accident."
