The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has opted to cancel the scheduled procession on January 17, where devotees were to witness the new idol of Ram Lalla across Ayodhya city before the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony. Instead, the Trust has decided to organize a tour of the new idol within the Ram Janmabhoomi premises on the same day.

A senior functionary of the Trust highlighted that concerns raised by security agencies regarding crowd management led to the decision to cancel the city tour. Security agencies expressed apprehensions about controlling the anticipated rush of devotees and pilgrims eager to catch a glimpse of the new idol of Ram Lalla during the city procession.

The decision to revise the plans was made following a meeting between officials of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Acharyas of Kashi, and senior administrative officials. The Ayodhya district administration also emphasized the difficulty in managing the expected crowd during the proposed city tour, prompting the shift to an internal viewing within the Ram Janmabhoomi premises.
