Rana, a Pakistani-born Canadian citizen, is in the custody of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) after he was extradited from the United States.

The interrogation took place in Delhi on Thursday. The officials stated that the 64-year-old retired Pakistan Army officer rejected any involvement in the 26/11 attacks. The interrogation, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Datta Nalawade, centered on getting Rana's involvement in planning and logistics of the attacks.

Rana insisted that his business, "First World Immigration Services," was a legitimate concern and not a cover for terror operations. However, while denying it, authorities believe him to be at the epicenter of the conspiracy, primarily on the testimony of David Coleman Headley, another prime accused in the 26/11 case. Headley had earlier revealed that Rana assisted in the reconnaissance operations that culminated in the attacks.

The NIA is continuing its probe, with officials asserting that a chargesheet against Rana will be filed in due course with full details.
