The chief priest of the Ram temple in Ayodhya has called for an investigation after photographs allegedly showing the uncovered eyes of the idol of Ram Lalla were leaked ahead of its scheduled consecration on January 22.
The initial image of the new idol, covered with a cloth over its eyes, was shared on social media late Thursday night. Subsequently, photos revealing the idol without the cover circulated on various social media platforms.
Chief priest Satyendra Das emphasized that the eyes of Lord Ram's idol should not be revealed before the completion of the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony. He called for an inquiry to determine how the images of the idol, particularly its eyes, became public on social media.
Office bearers of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the temple trust have rejected the release of any photographs, indicating a desire to maintain the sanctity and confidentiality of the consecration ceremony. The incident has sparked concerns about the security and privacy surrounding the highly anticipated event at the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
