The wave of suspensions escalated on Wednesday, with an additional two MPs suspended, bringing the total to 143. On Tuesday, 49 Lok Sabha MPs faced suspension, followed by the suspension of 33 Lok Sabha MPs and 45 Rajya Sabha MPs on Monday. Earlier, on December 14, 13 Lok Sabha MPs and one Rajya Sabha MP were suspended for the remainder of the winter session due to their demands for a detailed discussion on the December 13 Parliament security breach.

The security breach occurred on December 13, coinciding with the 22nd anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror attack. During the Zero hour proceedings, two individuals jumped from the visitors' gallery into the Lok Sabha Chamber and sprayed yellow color smoke. Subsequent arrests were made by Delhi Police Special Cell.
