It was on this happy occasion of Krishna Janmashtami that President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi availed the first opportunity to extend warm wishes to the country.
She said that the President, Ms. Murmu, reiterated the point of embracing Lord Krishna's teachings. "I greet all fellow citizens on the holy festival of Janmashtami. This festival inspires us toward dedication to the holy ideals of Lord Shri Krishna. On this occasion, let us learn from the ideal lord Shri Krishna and resolve to work for progress and prosperity in the country", she said in a post on X.
While Prime Minister Modi delivered his message to the people, he shared, "Best wishes to all of you on Janmashtami. Jai Shri Krishna!"
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar also showed his regard for the day by sharing a scene from the Mahabharata, which finds a place in Part IV of the Constitution of India under the Directive Principles of State Policy. He posted on X something like, "Janmashtami is the birthday of Lord Krishna and signifies divine love, wisdom, and righteousness. Therefore, it is of immense spiritual significance. As we rejoice in the holy occasion, let us remember the immortal messages of Lord Krishna and try to practice those lessons for building oneness, peace, and harmony in our society.".
He further described the picture, saying, "The scene from the Mahabharata- Shri Krishna propounding the infinite ocean of wisdom, the Bhagavad Gita, to Arjuna at Kurukshetra is the subject of the artwork in Part IV of the Constitution of India: Directive Principles of State Policy. Warm greetings on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami.".
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also conveyed his best wishes through social media. He shared a post with best wishes to countrymen for this mega day. He further mentioned in the post, "Best wishes to all countrymen on the holy festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami! I pray to the Lord at this pious moment for the happiness, prosperity, and continuous progress of all. May Lord Shri Krishna's blessings stay upon you all.".
This is one of the big festivals in Hinduism, regarding the celebration of the birthday of Lord Krishna. He is considered the eighth incarnation of Vishnu. It lies on the eighth day of Krishna Paksha and falls on the Hindu month of Bhadrapada, normally in the months of August or September.
