Police Claim WhatsApp Chats Expose 'Secret Wedding': Was Siya Already Married Before Plotting Ketan's Murder?

Agarwal was allegedly pushed to his death from the historic Lohagad Fort near Lonavala, a case that shocked the region.

The investigation into the alleged murder of Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal has taken a dramatic turn, with police claiming that his fiancée Siya Goyal was already married at the time of the crime.

Agarwal was allegedly pushed to his death from the historic Lohagad Fort near Lonavala, a case that shocked the region. Police have now claimed that Goyal and her alleged lover Chetan Chaudhary had secretly tied the knot four months before the incident, concealing the marriage from their families.

According to a report by News18 Marathi, investigators uncovered details of the alleged secret marriage through WhatsApp conversations recovered from the mobile phones of the accused. Police believe the digital evidence has added a new dimension to the murder probe.

Agarwal was allegedly killed on June 18 after being pushed off Lohagad Fort. Police have arrested Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary in connection with the case.

The case, which initially appeared to involve a suspected love triangle, reportedly took a different course after investigators examined digital evidence gathered during the investigation.

### What police allegedly found in digital evidence

According to News18 Marathi, investigators analysed call records, location information, WhatsApp chats and internet browsing history retrieved from the accused persons’ devices.

While reviewing digital records from the previous six to seven months, police allegedly discovered that Siya and Chetan had married secretly four months earlier. Investigators believe the couple kept the marriage hidden because they feared opposition from their families.

Police suspect that the alleged plan to eliminate Ketan Agarwal was developed after the secret marriage.

Investigators have also claimed that an earlier attempt to kill Agarwal was allegedly made on June 14. According to police, Siya lost courage at the final moment and the attempt did not succeed.

Following the failed attempt, investigators said Siya allegedly sent a message to Chetan stating, “I don’t have the courage to do it, you come too — together we’ll push him off the cliff."

Police claim that four days later, on June 18, Siya and Chetan allegedly carried out the plan together, resulting in Agarwal’s death.
