After PM Modi won his third term in a row on June 4, President Zelensky called up to congratulate and invited Modi to visit Ukraine, which has been ravaged by war.

It is in this context that Prime Minister Modi, during his telephonic discussion with Zelensky in March, was seeking opportunities to strengthen the India-Ukraine partnership, even while he reiterated the commitment of India for a peaceful resolution of the crisis. Modi asserts his commitment to dialogue and diplomacy by insisting that there is no solution to the issue by military means.
