Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns to New Delhi after a 'successful' three-day visit to the United States that involved several bilateral interactions with leaders of various countries at the Quad Leaders' Summit and the UN Summit of the Future.
During the final leg of his visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held talks with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Cardinal Secretary of State of Vatican City, Pietro Parolin, on the sidelines of the Summit of the Future in New York. He is said to have tweeted about his happiness on X, saying, "Wonderful to have met Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia on the sidelines of the Summit of the Future at the UN earlier today."
He further said, "Had a great conversation with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See in New York." In the very same day, the President had bilateral meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. During this visit, PM Modi reasserted India's "clear, consistent and constructive" position calling for peaceful resolution of the present conflict in Ukraine through diplomacy and dialogue engaging with all stakeholders. He also posted on X, "Met President Zelensky in New York. We are committed to implementing the outcomes of my visit to Ukraine last month to strengthen bilateral relations.". She stressed India's full support for an early settlement of the conflict in Ukraine as well as peace and stability. This was the third meeting between Prime Minister Modi and President Zelensky within just three months of each other.
The two leaders agreed to maintain close communication. Further, on Monday, Prime Minister Modi met with Vietnamese President To Lam, commenting that their meeting would make their relations with one another better. Subsequently, upon their discussion, he wrote on X: "We took stock of the full range of India-Vietnam friendship. We look forward to adding momentum in sectors such as connectivity, trade, culture, and more."
The two countries are actively working towards strengthening ties across multiple areas with a comprehensive strategic partnership. Prior to these meetings, the Prime Minister addressed the UN Summit of the Future, assuring the global community and the UN that "India will continue to work in thought, words, and deeds to protect the rights of all humanity and for global prosperity."
