PM Modi Highlights Chandrayaan-3 Achievement as a Milestone in 'Mann Ki Baat'

The PM said that the achievement by Chandrayaan-3, which landed on the southern part of the Moon successfully without any accident on August 23 last year, was done with grit and determination, and it is an achievement that the country shall never forget. The lunar mission, followed by some glitches after the touchdown, has assured the continuation of the development of India, given that it is the first nation to perform such a landing.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on his monthly radio broadcast "Mann Ki Baat," said that the Chandrayaan-3 mission of India shows the evidence of the collective efforts taken to take the country's science to new heights.

He talked about his vision and the progress done in the 21st century in India, which was contributing to the country's development; PM Modi also shared the benefits had the space sector reforms brought, mainly to the youth.

The Spacetech Startup Team Galaxeye, first to receive an angel investment from TiE IITM, was interacting with the Prime Minister. One of the young scientists from the team, Suyash, remembered how the team had embarked on their journey while citing an initial project "Hyperloop" that took them to America as one of the top 20 teams from across the world, and about 1,500 teams had taken part. This experience had further built their friendship and confidence.

Suyash also lauded the decision of 2020 to open up and privatize the space sector and termed it something that thrilled them a lot.

Rakshit from Almora in Uttarakhand explained his startup had the usage of technology that could see through clouds and take clear images from space even in the night. He explained that it will be used in ensuring national security and assisting the farmers by keeping a remote vigil on the borders and activities of the enemies.

This was the 113th episode of PM Modi's "Mann Ki Baat." In his last telecast he praised the performance of the Olympians in Paris and called upon the country to rise to the occasion for their athletes. He even praised the Mathematics Olympiad winners and spoke on the MANAS helpline to curb drug addiction. He also mentioned Assam's Charaideo Maidam, added to the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, which needs to be visited by the public.
