Pawar Affirms Unity in INDIA Bloc: No Dispute Over Convenor's Post, Emphasizes Faceless Approach

Pawar, addressing reporters after the meeting, mentioned that projecting a specific face for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls is unnecessary. He highlighted that the leader can be chosen after the election results are declared, citing the example of the 1977 elections when Morarji Desai was not projected as the prime ministerial face by the opposition.

NCP president Sharad Pawar emphasized that there is no dispute among the members of the INDIA bloc regarding the appointment of a convenor. He stated that during a virtual meeting held on Saturday, the suggestion to appoint Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as the convenor was made, but Nitish Kumar proposed forming a team of party chiefs instead.

The NCP president expressed confidence in providing an alternative and considered the collaboration of several parties as a positive sign. He also mentioned that discussions about candidates for the Lok Sabha elections did not take place during the virtual meeting. Instead, the focus was on programs, policies, and seat-sharing, especially in Maharashtra.

Regarding the Ram temple issue, Pawar noted that while nobody opposes the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, there are questions about the political motives behind holding the consecration ceremony in an incomplete temple. The meeting concluded with the decision to form a committee responsible for organizing joint rallies of allies across the country.
