Coast Guard inducts HAL's three Dhruv helicopters

"The choppers will be stationed at Bhubaneswar, Porbandar, Chennai and Kochi as part of the ICG aviation squadrons," said the city-based defence behemoth in a statement here. Inducting the Dhruvs, Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar said the ALHs with advanced sensors would enable the Coast Guard to take up challenging tasks.
Nine research studies published on Covaxin's safety in a year: Bharat Biotech

"The company has published as many as nine research studies on the safety and efficacy of Covaxin in five globally reputed peer-reviewed journals in a span of just twelve months," Bharat Biotech said in a statement. As part of its preclinical studies involving testing of vaccine candidates on laboratory animals, the company has already completed three studies which were published in 'Cellpress'.
Delhi reports 213 new Covid cases, lowest since March 1

With 28 more fatalities getting reported in the last 24 hours, Delhi's overall Covid death toll mounted to 24,800, according to the bulletin. On a positive note, 497 people recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries in the national capital to 14,02,474.
Pvt hospitals used only 17.05% of total Covid vax in May

As per the Health Ministry's June 4 data, the Central government provided total of 7.4 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses to hospitals across the country in May, of which 1.85 crore doses were earmarked for private hospitals. Of the 1.85 crore vaccines earmarked for private hospitals across India, 1.29 crore doses were provided to them in May, however, the government data showed, only 22 lakh doses were used.

2 civilians, 2 cops killed in Sopore militant attack

Earlier reports had said only one civilian was injured in this incident. Police said two civilians and 2 policemen were injured when militants hurled a grenade at the security forces in Sopore town. Later they succumbed to critical injuries in the hospital during treatment.
CoWIN hack and data leak is baseless: Govt

Chairman of the Empowered Group on Vaccine Administration (EGVAC) R.S. Sharma has clarified that "the claims of so-called hackers on the dark web, relating to alleged hacking of the CoWIN system and data leak, is baseless". "We continue to take appropriate steps as are necessary, from time to time, to ensure that the data of the people is safe with CoWIN," Sharma said.
Akali Dal, BSP stitch alliance in Punjab

India forms policy to compile, declassify war histories-military ops

"The policy envisages that each organisation under the Ministry of Defence such as Services, Integrated Defence Staff, Assam Rifles and Indian Coast Guard, will transfer the records, including war diaries, letters of proceedings and operational record books, etc., to the History Division of Ministry of Defence (MoD) for proper upkeep, archival and writing the histories," the Ministry of Defence stated.
