India logs 12,751 fresh Covid cases, 42 deaths
In the same period, the country reported 42 more Covid deaths taking the nationwide death toll to 5,26,772. Meanwhile, the active caseload has marginally declined to 1,31,807 cases, accounting for 0.31 per cent of the country's total positive cases. The recovery of 16,412 patients in the last 24 hours took the cumulative tally to 4,35,16,071. Consequently, India's recovery rate stands at 98.51 per cent.
India, US joint special forces exercise begins in Himachal's Bakloh
"The 13th edition of the Indo-US Joint Special Forces exercise -- Ex Vajra Prahar 2022, began at the Special Forces Training School in Bakloh today," the Defence Ministry said in a statement. This joint annual exercise is hosted alternatively between India and the US to share the best practices and experiences in areas such as joint mission planning and operational tactics.

Indian Army Chief to visit Nepal in early September to boost defence ties

"We have received communication from the Indian side that General Pandey will be here from September 5 to 7," a senior official at Nepal's foreign ministry, told India Narrative on Sunday, requesting anonymity. He added that the government and army are currently making preparations for the visit.

In a first, US Navy ship arrives in India to undergo repairs
This is the first-ever repair of a US Navy ship in India, providing a huge boost to 'Make in India' and 'Aatmanirbharta in Defence'. The US Navy had awarded a contract to L&T's Shipyard at Kattupalli for undertaking maintenance of the ship. A statement said that the event signifies the capabilities of Indian shipyards in the global ship repairing market.
