Indian Navy to become 'Aatmanirbhar' by 2047, assures Navy Chief

Addressing a press conference on the eve of Navy Day (December 4), Admiral Kumar said: "The government has given us clear guidelines on Aatmanirbhar Bharat. We have given assurance that the Indian Navy will become Aatmanirbhar by 2047." On maritime security, he said the Navy is keeping a strong vigil on the movements of Chinese vessels in the Indian Ocean Region.
Delhi's air quality continues in 'very poor' category

According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), the city's overall Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 323 in the "very poor" category this morning. The concentration of both PM 2.5 and PM 10 in the environment was recorded at 323 and 211 respectively under the "very poor" and "poor" category respectively.As per the SAFAR forecast, the city's air quality is set to further deteriorate with AQI escalating to 335 in the "very poor" category on Sunday.
Collegium most transparent institution; fashion for ex-judges to comment on its decisions: Supreme Court

The apex court emphasised that collegium is the most transparent institution. A bench headed by Justice M.R. Shah said, "Let the system, which is functioning well, not be derailed. The collegium does not work on the basis of some busybody." The bench, also comprising Justice C.T. Ravikumar, added, "Let us perform our duties and let the collegium function according to its duties. We are the most transparent institution."
Navy being equipped with latest ships to protect maritime borders: Rajnath Singh

He also lauded the defence shipyards for strengthening the country's economy. "During 2021-22, the value of production of these shipyards was Rs 8,925 crore and profit after tax was Rs 928 crore. Presently, the order book position of these shipyards is Rs 81,777 crore," Rajnath Singh said.
Indian Navy ships Shivalik, Kamorta reach Vietnam

The Ministry of Defence said that Shivalik and Kamorta form part of the Indian Navy's Eastern Fleet based at Visakhapatnam. The two ships, designed and constructed in India, are equipped with a versatile array of weapons and sensors, carry multi-role helicopters and symbolise India's advanced warship building capabilities, the Navy added.

A notification published in the Gazette of India on November 28 states, "The President of India is pleased to re-employ Taranjit Singh Sandhu (IFS:1988), an officer of Grade 1 of IFS, as Ambassador of India to the United States of America, for a period of 01 year with effect from 01.02.2023 to 31.01.2024 or until further orders."
Delhi High Court directs social media platforms to block judicial officer's 'sexually explicit' video

Justice Yashwant Varma also asked for the video to be taken down and blocked from all ISPs, messaging platforms and social media platforms. "Bearing in mind the sexually explicit nature of the contents of that video and taking into consideration the imminent, grave and irreparable harm that is likely to be caused to the privacy rights of the plaintiff an ad interim ex parte injunction is clearly warranted," the court said.
