In the same period, the country has recorded one Covid related death, taking the national toll to 5,30,681 as per the report. Meanwhile, the active caseload of the country presently stands at 3,402 cases, accounting for 0.01 per cent of the country's total positive cases.

Also called the Omicron Spawn, the BF.7 sub-variant, first detected in India in October, is the newest form that has high transmissibility. According to health experts, this is because the new variant quickly bypasses the immunity that a person has developed through a natural infection with an earlier variant or even if the complete course of the vaccines are taken.

Dense fog envelops Delhi, flights and trains delayed

The visibility dropped to 500 metres at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) at 5.30 a.m. "Flights are being diverted or are returning to Delhi due to bad weather in Chandigarh, Varanasi, and Lucknow," stated the advisory issued for flyers by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) on Wednesday. Around 20 trains were delayed due to the thick fog and low visibility that blanketed the national capital this morning at the New Delhi Railway Station.
PFI has links with Al Qaeda: NIA report

The probe agency alleged in the report that PFI leaders were in touch with the terror group via different modes.The NIA further claimed that the banned group was running a secret wing which they wanted to reveal at a different time."During recent raids, the NIA recovered a few devices. During the scanning of those devices, the agency learnt that PFI leaders had been in touch with the Al Qaeda. They were also had a secret wing," said a source.
