On the other hand, the Zomi Council Steering Committee (ZCSC), an organisation advocating the cause of nine Kuki-Zomi tribes of Manipur, on Tuesday sought the intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a permanent solution of the ethnic crisis of Manipur and demanded imposition of President's Rule in the state.
China leads lunar race, but Chandrayaan-3 can be a gamechanger

The success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission will make India the fourth country in the world to land and ride on the Moon's surface after the US, Russia, and China. India launched its first Moon mission Chandrayaan-1 in October 2008 using its light rocket Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) and the second mission on July 22, 2019 with the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-Mk III now renamed as LVM3.
Internet partially restored in Manipur, broadband allowed but no mobile internet

Manipur Home Commissioner T. Ranjit Singh, in an order, said that the state government has made considered decision to lift suspension in case of broadband service (Internet Lease Line and Fibre to the Home) conditionally in a liberalised manner subject to fulfilment of 10 conditions, including that connection has to be only through static IP.
Moon-bound Chandrayaan-3 gets farther from the earth on voyage

On August 1, the Chandrayaan-3 will take the 'moon spaceway’ when the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will guide it to the TransLunar Injection (TLI). On Tuesday, the ISRO said: "The orbit-raising maneuver (Earth-bound perigee firing) is performed successfully from ISTRAC/ISRO, Bengaluru. The spacecraft is expected to attain an orbit of 127609 km x 236 km. The achieved orbit will be confirmed after the observations."
Karnataka: Cops accused of harassing woman activist's family over filming in girls' restrooms issue

The opposition BJP and Hindu groups in the southern state have criticised the police for "harassing the activist instead of initiating action against the Muslim girls who recorded the objectionable videos". Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator Basanagouda Patil Yatnal on Tuesday sought to know "if the police were sent to the residence of the woman activist to instill fear?" 
SC stays ASI survey of Gyanvapi mosque till 5 p.m. Wednesday

A bench comprising Chief Justice Of India D. Y. Chandrachud and Justices J. B. Pardiwala and Manoj Misra permitted the mosque management committee to move the Allahabad High Court to challenge the order passed by the Varanasi District Court. The apex court passed the above direction after noting that the order of the district court was pronounced at 4.30 p.m. on July 21.
Indian rocket PSLV to orbit 7 Singaporean satellites on July 30

ISRO will start the registration of the public wanting to witness the launch from Monday evening onwards. According to the space agency, the PSLV rocket with the code PSLV-C56 will carry the Singaporean DS-SAR satellite weighing about 360 kg as the main passenger.

In view of the deteriorating law and order situation in Manipur where Zo and Kuki communities, who share ethnic ties with Mizos, have been targeted, the Mizoram government had already ordered enhanced security for the Meitei population.
Gyanvapi survey begins on Monday in Varanasi

The development comes days after the Varanasi court on Friday ordered an extensive survey of the barricaded area of the Gyanvapi Masjid, excluding its sealed section, by ASI to ascertain whether the mosque was built over a pre-existing Hindu temple, holding that the scientific investigation is "necessary" for the "true facts" to come out.
Foundation stone laid for 108-feet statue of Lord Rama in Andhra

The Jai Shri Ram Foundation is installing the ‘panchaloha’ statue, which is estimated to cost Rs 300 crore. Sri Raghavendra Swamy Mutt has donated 10 acres land for the statue, which will be the country’s tallest statue of the deity.
