Canada confirms staff evacuated from Delhi over several weeks

Alhough no official statement has been made by the Canadian government on the evacuation of the staff from Delhi, government sources confirmed to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on Friday that the lower-level diplomatic staff has been shifted from Delhi to Malaysia and Singapore.
ISRO preps first flight test to demonstrate crew escape system for human space mission

According to the space agency, it will commence unmanned flight tests for the Gaganyaan mission. “Preparations for the Flight Test Vehicle Abort Mission-1 (TV-D1), which demonstrates the performance of the Crew Escape System, are underway,” ISRO said. The first development flight Test Vehicle (TV-D1) is in the final stages of preparation.
Has Yamuna become India’s river of sorrow?

The sickly Yamuna river is already dry. “Thanks to open drains upstream, the river has been reduced to a vast sewage canal. Already you can see foaming and white layer patches on the river bed downstream of the Gokul barrage in Mathura. Yamuna is stinking with filth and toxic effluents,” said environmentalist Devashish Bhattacharya.
Manipur government extends internet ban till October 11

Extending the ban on mobile internet services till October 11, Commissioner (Home) T. Ranjit Singh said in his order: "There is apprehension that some anti-social elements might use social media extensively for transmission of images, hate speech and hate video messages inciting the passions of the public which might have serious repercussions for the law and order situation in the state of Manipur.”
Afghan Embassy, Consulates to remain open, say envoys after meeting MEA officials

In a post on X, Afghanistan's Consul General in Mumbai, Zakia Wardak, said on Friday that she along with acting Consul General Sayed Mohammad Ibrahimkhil had met senior MEA officials on October 4, during which it was made clear that the Afghanistan Embassy in Delhi and both the Consulates in Mumbai and Hyderabad will remain open and continue their operations for the benefit of its citizens.
Sikkim deluge: Army weapons, equipment swept away in Teesta River

Defence PRO, Lt. Col. Mahendra Rawat said: "Due to severe floods in Sikkim, certain military equipment including firearms and explosives were carried away in Teesta River. An urgent notice for the public has already been issued by Jalpaiguri district authorities."
