AstraZeneca's drug Tagrisso approved in China in early lung cancer

China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) approved the drug as adjuvant therapy for early-stage lung cancer patients with a mutation of the EGFR gene, AstraZeneca said. The approval was based on positive results from a Phase 3 trial, the company said, adding that Tagrisso is the only targeted medicine to show efficacy in the treatment of early-stage lung cancer in a global trial and the first such medicine approved in China.

Anand Kumar, a resident of Ghoswari village, says that dozens of people from his village had gone to other states to earn money and have now returned home or are preparing to return to their native place fearing a lockdown.

The Chief Minister had stated on Tuesday evening that he is isolating himself after a number of officials in his secretariat tested positive for Covid.

Akhilesh Yadav tests Covid positive

He said that he had isolated himself at home and taking treatment as per prescribed protocol. Akhilesh had recently visited Haridwar where he met a number of saints and seers. Some of the saints, including Mahant Narendra Giri, later tested positive for Covid.
India reports 1.84 lakh new Covid cases, 1,027 deaths

In the same period, 1,027 more people succumbed to the disease, which increased the death toll to 1,72,085. India is now the fourth-worst Covid affected country worldwide after the number of active cases rose to 13,65,704. A total of 83,339 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the number of recoveries to 1,23,36,036 with a recovery rate of 88.92 per cent.
Karnataka issues guidelines for Ramzan
